About the position

Northern New Jersey based residential development and management company with a growing portfolio of new construction and existing suburban apartment communities is seeking an energetic and experienced candidate to join their team and fill a full-time Property Manager position for our residential community in Hackensack, NJ. The Property Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all operational aspects of the community. This position oversees all site personnel, resident relations, customer service, community maintenance/contracted services, administration, reporting, community safety, and legal compliance, among other responsibilities. The Property Manager will oversee all personnel, which includes hiring and terminating employees, managing employee relations, mentoring, motivating, supervising, and developing employees, as well as tracking staff attendance and overtime. This role requires compliance with and enforcement of all company policies and procedures. Additionally, the Property Manager is responsible for all resident relations, which involves managing concerns and complaints, overseeing general communications, and coordinating community events. The position also entails bidding out and overseeing vendor and contractor relations, maintaining contracts, walking vacant units, and continually assessing building and property needs. The Property Manager will schedule and attend all required inspections, review and code bills appropriately, and coordinate turnovers, make-readies, and the move-out process. Completing and analyzing weekly and monthly reporting as required is also a key responsibility of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with and enforce all company policies and procedures
  • Manage all resident relations: manage concerns/complaints; oversee general communications; event coordination
  • Bid-out and oversee vendor/contractor relations, and maintenance of contracts
  • Walk vacant units and continually assess building/property needs
  • Schedule and attend all required inspections
  • Review and code bills appropriately
  • Coordinate turnovers, make-readies and move-out process
  • Complete/Analyze weekly/monthly reporting as required

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience, preferred
  • At least 3 years experience in a supervisory role, required
  • Hands-on mentality
  • Bilingual, a plus
  • Yardi software experience a plus
  • Willing to work on-call in cases of emergency
  • Strong working knowledge of building systems, a plus
  • Must have professionalism and excellent customer service skills
  • Strong organization skills and follow-through
  • Excellent written/verbal communications skills a must
