About the position

The Proposal & Business Development Manager I/II/Sr at Ahtna Logistics is responsible for supporting the company's marketing strategies by managing the proposal development process for federal and state agencies. This role involves coordinating nationwide proposal efforts, collaborating with various stakeholders, and ensuring timely submission of high-quality proposals. The position requires exceptional communication and time management skills to effectively lead proposal activities and maintain compliance throughout the proposal lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Manage proposals (RFP, RFI, SSN) and all deliverables, including determining schedules and coordinating content submission.
  • Develop thorough RFP compliance matrix and maintain compliance throughout the proposal development lifecycle.
  • Drive proposal efforts to completion, including Go/No-Go decisions and submission follow-up.
  • Participate in pre-marketing activities, including intelligence gathering and competitor analysis.
  • Compile and maintain a proposal opportunity listing.
  • Facilitate strategy/theme development to define competitive solutions and discriminators.
  • Assist in the design of marketing collateral such as proposals, organizational charts, and presentations.
  • Establish and enforce writing assignments and deadlines.
  • Coordinate and lead color-team reviews of proposals for quality and compliance.
  • Oversee final production and submission of proposals.
  • Coordinate team debriefs on proposal wins and losses.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products, services, and industry trends.
  • Prepare and maintain templated Past Performance Questionnaires (PPQs).
  • Maintain proposal and project information using a CRM database.
  • Travel to site visits and industry events as directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a Business-related discipline.
  • Experience with Federal proposal coordination, writing, and leading proposal volumes.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate proposal resources and communicate status regularly to stakeholders.
  • Experience with defining business development processes and knowledge of federal procurement processes.
  • Ability to edit content from multiple individuals and produce compliant proposals.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to pass background checks by various Federal Agencies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with business development or client delivery with U.S. federal civilian agencies.
  • Experience and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures.
