About the position

The Proposal Lead will play a crucial role in leading the proposal development process for strategic pursuits at Hatch. This position involves managing the proposal from the receipt of the RFP through to delivery, ensuring compliance, quality, and alignment with win strategies. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders and the ability to coordinate resources effectively to produce compelling proposals that meet client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end proposal development process on strategic pursuits in partnership with the technical Proposal Manager.
  • Develop and implement the proposal management plan and schedule.
  • Organize and co-chair proposal kick-off, status updates, content planning, and review meetings.
  • Participate in proposal strategy meetings and collaborate with the proposal team.
  • Ensure delivery of a compliant, clear, and compelling proposal that reflects win themes.
  • Identify and escalate issues impacting the proposal's schedule or quality.
  • Review proposal drafts and final versions for responsiveness, compliance, accuracy, and quality.
  • Support clarifications and post-bid submission requirements.
  • Coordinate post-proposal evaluations and internal debriefs for process improvement.
  • Lead the proposal coordinator and graphic designer during proposal development.
  • Train, coach, and guide proposal team members for continual improvement.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of proposal development experience, including at least 2 years as a proposal manager.
  • Experience in one of Hatch's core industries, ideally Metals and/or Energy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Word and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Point and CRM tools is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of the engineering, procurement, and construction management consulting industry is highly desired.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong detail orientation, analytical skills, and ability to process information quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate on assignments.
  • Ability to identify, separate, delegate work tasks, and prioritize them in relation to proposal production activity and deadlines.
