About the position

The Proposal Manager at Thomson Reuters is responsible for managing the proposal response process for formal solicitations from government entities, corporations, and law firms. This role encompasses various responsibilities including proposal writing, coordination, and strategy development to ensure compliance and competitiveness in proposal submissions. The position requires a collaborative and flexible approach to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and integrity in proposal responses.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the RFP response process from solicitation receipt to contract award.
  • Create proposal-related materials for formal customer requests.
  • Schedule, facilitate, and lead bid strategy sessions with the RFP response team.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the electronic repository of content for future RFPs.
  • Evaluate customer requirements to create compliant and compelling proposals.
  • Communicate with customers regarding procurement-related issues and proposal revisions.
  • Generate complete and accurate proposal responses that comply with solicitation requirements.
  • Review final proposal documents for responsiveness and comprehensiveness.
  • Ensure successful delivery of proposal submissions by the stated deadlines.
  • Provide proposal guidance and assistance to internal business partners.

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent/relevant work experience.
  • 1-3+ years' experience with proposal writing/management, especially for government customers.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Strong editing skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong technical aptitude and analytical skills; ability to learn new products quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and communicate with internal and external partners.

Nice-to-haves

  • Membership in a professional proposal organization such as APMP.
  • Experience with proposal creation software (e.g., Qvidian).
