About the position

JRAD is seeking candidates for an immediate fill position for a Federal Government Proposal Writer / Editor. This position is Remote. We are looking for a Proposal Writer to join our Corporate Team to assist our portfolio of companies in proposal development, writing, editing, and submitting Federal Government proposals. The successful candidate will identify and implement best practices in content and template development, review RFPs and RFQs, develop compliance matrices to verify that proposals align with instructions (Section C, L, and M), compile written narratives, and ensure final submissions are clear, concise, and align with the objectives of the solicitation. This position is a deadline-driven role and requires interactions with various technical and non-technical personnel on a daily basis. The Proposal Writer will be responsible for writing, reviewing, proofreading, and copy editing compliant, grammatically correct, and appropriately formatted proposals prepared using technical input from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in response to federal solicitations (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs). The role involves interpreting technical and management requirements to develop compliance matrices and proposal outlines, collaborating with SMEs to gather information and develop proposal content to achieve technical and management compliance, and ensuring strict adherence to Government requirements, formatting guidelines, and submission requirements. Additionally, the Proposal Writer will edit and proofread proposal documents to ensure clarity, consistency, and grammatical accuracy, develop color team review packages, and participate in color team review feedback sessions. The position may require nights, weekend, and holiday work hours as needed to meet proposal delivery deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Write, review, proofread and copy edit compliant, grammatically correct and appropriately formatted proposals prepared using technical input from SMEs in response to federal solicitations (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs).
  • Interpret technical and management requirements to develop compliance matrices and develop a proposal outline.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and develop proposal content to achieve technical and management compliance.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Government requirements, formatting guidelines, and submission requirements.
  • Edit and proofread proposal documents to ensure clarity, consistency, and grammatical accuracy.
  • Develop color team review packages and participate in color team review feedback sessions.
  • Develop and maintain proposal templates, libraries, and databases using SharePoint or similar functionality.
  • Participate in proposal strategy development and win strategy planning.
  • Interview subject matter experts to clarify content and focus their efforts on technical expertise.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience in a relevant role; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Extensive working knowledge of the Shipley or APMP proposal process; certification is a plus.
  • Prior proposal management experience is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD and/or DHS security clearance, public trust and/or suitability is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SharePoint or similar functionality for proposal management.
  • Familiarity with federal solicitation processes and requirements.
