About the position

The Contracts and Proposals Specialist at Connection plays a crucial role in preparing proposals and responding to inquiries from customers and prospects using pre-approved proposal materials. This position requires a keen understanding of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and the ability to analyze them effectively. The Specialist is responsible for reviewing proposal pricing and ensuring that all necessary approvals are obtained before submission. Additionally, the role involves identifying any Terms & Conditions in the contract proposals that may not align with company policies or client expectations, ensuring that all proposals are compliant and competitive. In this role, the Specialist will also coordinate with various support organizations to gather input and ensure that all proposal information is complete and up-to-date. This includes answering calls from customers and prospects, providing them with the necessary information, and maintaining a professional demeanor at all times. The ability to multitask and manage a busy calendar is essential, as the Specialist will be juggling multiple proposals and deadlines simultaneously. Responsibilities

  • Review requirements and prepare proposal responses to small and mid-level RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs for submission to corporate prospects and customers.
  • Draft proposals in a clear and professional manner, ensuring all necessary information is included.
  • Coordinate with support organizations that have input into the proposal to ensure completeness and up-to-date proposal information.
  • Answer calls received by the department, providing information and assistance to customers and prospects as needed.

Requirements

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including creating presentations, documents in Word with advanced formatting, and spreadsheets.
  • Attention to detail in composing, keying, and proofing professional business materials.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand lines and reasons for questioning proposals.
