About the position

The Proposals and Sales Support Engineer will be responsible for creating tailored and complex proposals to meet customer needs within the Bulk Material Handling (BMH) Electrical and Instrumentation product group. This role involves reviewing customer inquiries, developing specifications, and ensuring proposals are commercially viable while mitigating risks. The position supports the sales team and requires collaboration with various business lines to deliver sustainable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer inquiries to identify needs and requirements.
  • Visit customers to understand their business and product needs.
  • Create proposals for complex upgrades, refurbishments, and retrofits.
  • Define application-specific equipment specifications.
  • Communicate the Metso value add to ensure proposal satisfaction.
  • Ensure proposals are commercially viable and manage risks.
  • Develop standard commercial offerings for upgrades and retrofits.
  • Create effective RFQs and obtain proposals from third-party suppliers.
  • Handover as-sold packages to the project management team.
  • Define supply needs to Procurement to support opportunities.
  • Coordinate with other business lines to deliver value-added proposals.
  • Provide direct sales support.
  • Control and protect company intellectual property.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Experience in engineering or related field.
  • Previous experience in generating product pricing and reviewing customer inquiries.
  • Experience in designing custom solutions is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with GBP (Grinding, Bulk, and Pyro) product groups is beneficial.
  • Experience using Salesforce or any CRM system.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in the Bulk Material Handling product group.
