The Props/Paint Coordinator will play a crucial role in the production of Mainstage performances at the School of Stage & Screen. This position involves close collaboration with directors, designers, the technical director, production manager, stage management, and the entire production department. The coordinator will be responsible for scheduling and supervising student workers in both the paint and props shops, ensuring that all production needs are met efficiently and effectively. Additionally, the coordinator will work directly with students assigned to relevant production roles, providing guidance and support as they develop their skills in theatre production. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of art history and design periods, which is essential for creating authentic and visually appealing props and sets. Knowledge of power tools, hand tools, painting techniques, and fabrication skills is also required to execute the various tasks associated with this role. Industry experience in theatre production is highly valued, as it will contribute to the overall success of the productions. This position is temporary and pays $30 per hour, with employees being compensated bi-weekly on an hourly basis without benefits.
