About the position

The Propulsion Design Engineer at Anduril Industries plays a crucial role in the development and optimization of advanced propulsion systems. This position involves taking ownership of the detailed design of engine components, driving prototype testing, and ensuring designs are optimized for manufacturing and assembly. The engineer will also lead continuous improvement activities and support flight testing as needed, contributing to the innovative goals of the Propulsion Development team.

Responsibilities

  • Own detailed design of individual engine components from conceptual phase into production.
  • Drive prototype testing and design of experiments to optimize designs prior to release.
  • Design with a heavy focus for manufacturing and assembly at production rates.
  • Own architectural layouts and design trade studies for future products.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities, including process improvement, efficiency improvement and development of data analysis techniques.

Requirements

  • BS or higher degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience designing mechanical parts (CAD) in NX or Solidworks
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding, castings, etc.)
  • Proficient in mechanical drawings, ASME Y14.5 GD&T
  • Experience procuring parts and working in a machine shop
  • Working knowledge of machine safety and shop safety protocols
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export-controlled data.
