About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Propulsion Engineer to join our dynamic team in a permanent, full-time position focused on the cutting-edge field of space and lunar propulsion systems. This role requires the candidate to be 100% onsite, and we offer full relocation assistance to ensure a smooth transition. As a Propulsion Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development and analysis of propulsion systems that are essential for our space exploration missions. You will work in a fast-paced, challenging environment where your skills will be put to the test, and your contributions will directly impact the success of our missions. In this position, you will be responsible for performing detailed analysis and development of propulsion systems, including their design, testing, and implementation. You will utilize mathematical modeling to predict and optimize system performance under various conditions. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with other engineering teams to ensure the integration of propulsion systems with other spacecraft subsystems. Additionally, you will conduct and oversee the execution of test plans to validate the performance of these systems, identify and mitigate risks associated with propulsion systems, and continuously stay updated with the latest advancements in the field to implement innovative solutions that improve system performance and reliability. You will also provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performing detailed analysis and development of propulsion systems, including design, testing, and implementation.
  • Utilizing mathematical modeling to predict and optimize system performance under various conditions.
  • Collaborating closely with other engineering teams to ensure the integration of propulsion systems with other spacecraft subsystems.
  • Conducting and overseeing the execution of test plans to validate the performance of the propulsion systems.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks associated with the propulsion system.
  • Continuously staying updated with the latest advancements in the field and implementing innovative solutions to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in propulsion engineering or a related field.
  • A bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A master's degree or higher is preferred.
  • Proven experience in the analysis and development of propulsion systems.
  • Strong knowledge of space and lunar environments and their impact on propulsion systems.
  • Proficiency in mathematical modeling and its application in the design and optimization of dynamic systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate complex ideas clearly.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software and tools.
  • A passion for space exploration and a drive to push the boundaries of what is possible.
