As a Propulsion Engineer III, you will be part of a diverse team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. In this role, you will design and develop combustion devices, including injectors, chambers, nozzles, thrusters, igniters, and related components for various rocket engines and spaceflight systems. You will be responsible for the complete product life-cycle of a combustion device, from initial requirements through flight qualification. This includes design, manufacturing, test support, performing test data reviews, processing non-conforming hardware, and writing technical reports. A strong background in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and structural mechanics is essential for success in this position. You will report directly to a Combustion Devices Manager within the Engines business unit. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop combustion devices for rocket engines and spaceflight systems.
  • Manage the complete product life-cycle of combustion devices from initial requirements through flight qualification.
  • Support manufacturing processes and provide test support for combustion devices.
  • Perform test data reviews and process non-conforming hardware.
  • Write technical reports documenting design and test results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and structural mechanics.
  • Proven track record in designing and developing combustion devices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with rocket engine design and development.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols in aerospace engineering.
  • Leadership experience in engineering projects.
