The Propulsion Engineer, Engine Test role is a critical position within ABL's Engine Responsible Engineer (RE) team, which is dedicated to ensuring the successful performance of all ABL rocket engines. This role involves a comprehensive range of responsibilities, including the planning and execution of engine testing, which is essential for the development and qualification of ABL's engine systems. As a Propulsion Engineer, you will be tasked with formulating initial test plans and actively participating in engine hotfires while monitoring live test data to evaluate engine health during operations. You will collaborate closely with test engineers and technicians to drive integration and test schedules, aiming to mitigate risks associated with engine systems throughout their development, qualification, and acceptance testing phases. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining engine system schematics, balances, and sequences, making quick and effective decisions, and inspecting engine hardware in collaboration with technicians to implement necessary changes to hardware configurations. A key aspect of this role is to enhance the test cadence through automation and strategic scope reduction.
