About the position

This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. As a member of the Engines Flight Support team, you will provide crucial customer service support for the integration, flight, and reuse of Blue Origin's BE-4 liquid rocket engines. Your responsibilities will encompass supporting engine integration, installation verification, and certification for flight. Additionally, you will collaborate with responsible engineers to facilitate the development and execution of launch procedures and contribute to flight and mission control activities. You will analyze flight data and participate in engine subsystem data reviews to provide valuable feedback to customers, designers, and component owners for future engine upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Support engine integration, installation verification, and certification for flight.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop and execute launch procedures.
  • Contribute to flight and mission control activities.
  • Analyze flight data and participate in engine subsystem data reviews.
  • Provide feedback to customers, designers, and component owners for future engine upgrades.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace/mechanical engineering or physics.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in propulsion development, test, or launch/flight operations of liquid rocket engines, jet engines, nuclear, or similar.
  • Ability to apply engineering fundamentals including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and structures.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and instrumentation such as pressure transducers, thermocouples, and accelerometers.
  • Understanding of cryogenic propellants and engine components including pumps, valves, regulators, and actuators.
  • Desire to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, and multifaceted environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel to support flight and test activities.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
