About the position

The Intern position at Astranis offers a unique opportunity for students to engage in meaningful work on complex projects within the Propulsion team. Interns will contribute to the design, analysis, building, and testing of propulsion system hardware, while collaborating with other teams to support company initiatives. This role is designed for students currently enrolled in a four-year university, allowing them to apply their academic knowledge to real-world challenges and develop essential team skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, build, and test propulsion system hardware.
  • Collaborate on interdisciplinary projects with other teams to support Propulsion and company initiatives.
  • Apply academic experience to real-world situations and develop team skills.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a B.S. in a technical discipline (e.g. Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, Physics).
  • Understanding of spacecraft systems and operation demonstrated through coursework or student organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test hardware from scratch.
  • US Citizenship or Green Card.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with spacecraft design with a focus on chemical and/or electrical propulsion for spacecraft.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Test experience with spacecraft propulsion systems.
