As a Propulsion Engineer at StandardAero, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of turbine engines. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of technical decision-making and support tasks aimed at addressing product quality issues, enhancing turbine engine performance, and troubleshooting various production processes. You will be expected to engage with both internal teams and external customers, providing expert guidance and support in relation to turbine engine overhaul and repair processes. This position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and methodologies in the aviation industry, allowing you to contribute significantly to the success of our operations. In this role, you will be responsible for recognizing and understanding flight and product safety critical parts and processes. You will resolve technical problems that fall outside of the regular work scope by liaising with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Acting as a technical liaison, you will facilitate best practice sharing and maintain effective communication with OEMs. Your duties will also include preparing detailed work instructions for operations personnel, supporting day-to-day production, and providing technical advisement to ensure compliance with technical requirements. You will be tasked with providing process-related training, analyzing methods to meet production requirements, and improving quality and efficiency. Additionally, you will produce reports on product serviceability, repair summaries, warranty claims, and failure analysis. Your role will involve coordinating activities between internal and external engineering and operations teams during new repair and process implementations, as well as initiating and supporting minor component repairs as permitted by FAR part 145. You will also be responsible for developing new repairs based on engineering data and contributing to repair trials, analyzing and documenting the results. Staying updated with state-of-the-art technologies and processes will be essential, as will supporting test cell calibration and maintenance. You will monitor and report on test cell efficiency, analyze discrepancies in performance and vibration test data, and support technicians in conducting engine performance runs and surveys. Ultimately, your expertise will guide the acceptance or rejection of engines based on performance data, providing recommendations for necessary corrections or improvements.
