About the position

The Propulsion Engineering Supervisor at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the design and testing of innovative propulsion systems for unmanned aerial vehicles. This position involves leading a team of engineers, managing engineering projects from inception to completion, and ensuring technical excellence in propulsion-related systems. The role emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and the application of advanced engineering principles to meet customer goals and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and test efforts of various propulsion system solutions.
  • Plan, execute, and manage engineering projects related to aircraft propulsion systems.
  • Generate and review engineering documentation for technical staff and customers.
  • Troubleshoot propulsion-related systems including engines and fuel systems.
  • Coordinate design concepts and engineering efforts for product development and testing.
  • Interact with internal and external representatives to resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in the planning and development of technical talent within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations in all business conduct.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline; Master's or PhD preferred.
  • Nine or more years of engineering experience with a bachelor's degree, seven with a master's, or four with a PhD.
  • Extensive technical expertise in engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience in project leadership and managing engineering workloads.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional Engineering License.
  • Published works in professional engineering journals.
  • Experience with CREO, Windchill, NX, and Teamcenter.
