About the position

The Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer II role at Relativity Space focuses on the development and production of the Aeon-R Nozzle hardware and manufacturing processes for the Terran-R vehicle. This position requires a high degree of autonomy and accountability, as the engineer will oversee manufacturing trades and develop processes for fabricating, testing, and delivering critical hardware. The role emphasizes collaboration between production and design teams to ensure that the manufactured hardware meets design specifications, while also addressing unique challenges in specialized manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Own the development and production of the Aeon-R Nozzle hardware and manufacturing processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between production and design teams.
  • Develop and optimize the Aeon-R Engine to ensure manufacturability and integration.
  • Investigate and resolve hardware non-conformances.
  • Drive failure investigation efforts and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis, structural proof testing, and pressurized leak checks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of direct experience working with nozzle assemblies or related hardware.
  • Ability to effectively investigate and resolve hardware non-conformances.
  • Knowledge of general assembly and test procedures.
  • Experience with Tooling design, including conceptualization, modeling, and drafting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Direct experience manufacturing Thrust Chamber Assembly hardware.
  • Familiarity with metal additive manufacturing technologies.
  • Experience with process development and qualification methods.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering results in complex manufacturing development projects.
