At Relativity Space, the Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer II for Valves plays a crucial role in the engine manufacturing department, which is dedicated to producing high-performing products and manufacturing systems. This position involves end-to-end hardware manufacturing ownership of the Terran R valves, which are essential components of the Terran R rocket. The engineer will be responsible for creating manufacturing work instructions, partnering with design engineering to lead the development strategy for hardware, and leading the manufacturing and production strategy for these critical components. The role requires collaboration with design engineers, test engineers, technicians, and the internal machine shop to ensure effective hardware development, manufacturing, testing, and scalability for high-volume production. The engineer will also design tooling and fixtures for assembly and testing, supporting component testing through development, qualification, and acceptance processes. This position is integral to the success of the Terran R program, which aims to meet the growing demand for launch capacity through innovative design and manufacturing practices. The Components (Valves) Manufacturing team is at the forefront of this mission, having achieved significant milestones in the past six months, including the manufacturing and testing of over 50 valves across 26 different iterations.
