About the position

The Prospect Research Analyst at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's fundraising efforts by conducting in-depth prospect research. This position involves developing and implementing strategies to identify and evaluate potential donors, ensuring that the Conservancy can cultivate its largest and most strategic donors effectively. The Analyst will work collaboratively within the Global Prospect Development team, providing insights and recommendations to enhance donor engagement and support the organization's mission of conserving lands and waters.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive prospect research to identify and evaluate potential donors.
  • Develop and implement strategies for donor engagement and pipeline development.
  • Analyze and interpret data to prepare donor briefings and generate reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support fundraising initiatives.
  • Present biographical research and recommendations to Development leadership and executives.
  • Maintain knowledge of systems and resources related to ethical performance and confidentiality in prospect research.
  • Stay updated on trends in wealth, philanthropy, and conservation to improve team offerings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience in principles and practices of prospect research and management.
  • Proficiency with current resources and technology in prospect research.
  • Experience analyzing data and preparing donor briefings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and teams.

  • Multi-lingual skills and cross-cultural experience.
  • Knowledge of current trends in prospect research.
  • Experience researching principal gift-level prospects in a non-profit environment.
  • Training in fundraising principles and practices.
