About the position

The Prospect Research Analyst (PRA) plays a crucial role in the success of the University of New Hampshire's fundraising initiatives. This position involves working independently on research and prospect identification projects, consulting with various fundraising teams and individual development officers, and collaborating on other prospect management efforts. The PRA is responsible for identifying potential donors, estimating their giving potential, and supporting the strategic movement of prospects through the donor pipeline. This role requires a strong commitment to accuracy and attention to detail, as well as the ability to synthesize complex research into clear and actionable insights. In this hybrid position, the PRA is expected to reside within a reasonable distance from the Durham, NH campus, allowing for occasional on-campus presence based on the team's business needs. The PRA will utilize advanced research methodologies to gather biographical and financial data from publicly available and electronic resources. This includes analyzing and interpreting research data to calculate wealth estimates, capacity ratings, and a prospect's inclination to contribute philanthropically to the University. The PRA will also proactively identify new prospects and networks, preparing executive briefings for University leadership, including the President, Provost, Deans, Vice Presidents, and board members. Effective communication is essential in this role, as the PRA will advise development officers on prospect strategies and facilitate meetings to discuss new prospects and donor visits. Additionally, the PRA will provide detailed analysis during strategy sessions that directly impact cultivation efforts and ask amounts, assisting colleagues in maintaining high-quality prospect portfolios. This position is integral to the overall fundraising strategy and requires a blend of research expertise, analytical skills, and interpersonal communication.
