About the position

The Prospect Research Analyst at The Nature Conservancy will play a crucial role in enhancing fundraising efforts by developing and implementing prospect research strategies. This position involves evaluating donor pools, identifying wealth indicators, and mapping donor interests to the organization's priorities. The Analyst will work closely with stakeholders, providing biographical research and recommendations to support the Conservancy's strategic fundraising initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement prospect research strategies to inform donor strategies.
  • Evaluate and prioritize donor pools based on wealth indicators and capacity.
  • Perform sphere of influence analysis and assess donor affinity.
  • Present biographical research and recommendations to Development leadership.
  • Maintain knowledge of systems and procedures for ethical performance and handling of sensitive information.
  • Stay updated on trends in wealth, philanthropy, and conservation to enhance team offerings.
  • Collaborate with development operations staff and fundraisers across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience in principles and practices of prospect research and management.
  • Familiarity with current resources and technology in prospect research.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data, prepare donor briefings, and generate reports.
  • Experience working across departments and with cross-functional teams.

  • Multi-lingual skills and cross-cultural experience.
  • Knowledge of current trends in prospect research.
  • Experience researching principal gift-level prospects and conducting wealth analysis in a non-profit environment.
  • Training in fundraising principles and practices.
