About the position

The Prospect Research Analyst at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's fundraising efforts by conducting in-depth research on potential donors. This position involves developing and implementing strategies for prospect research, identifying new donor prospects, and analyzing data to inform donor strategies. The Analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders and contribute to the overall mission of TNC by ensuring a robust donor pipeline and effective communication of research findings.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct prospect research to identify and evaluate potential donors.
  • Analyze and interpret data to prepare donor briefings and generate reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support fundraising efforts.
  • Present biographical research and recommendations to Development leadership and executives.
  • Maintain knowledge of systems and procedures related to ethical performance and confidentiality.
  • Stay updated on trends in wealth, philanthropy, and conservation to enhance research strategies.
  • Assist in training and developing documentation for the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience in principles and practices of prospect research and management.
  • Proficiency with current resources and technology in prospect research.
  • Experience analyzing data and preparing donor briefings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Multi-lingual skills and cross-cultural experience.
  • Knowledge of current trends in prospect research.
  • Experience researching principal gift-level prospects in a non-profit environment.
  • Excellent writing and organizational skills.
  • Experience with database management.
