About the position

The Prospect Research Analyst at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's fundraising efforts by conducting in-depth prospect research. This position involves developing and implementing strategies to identify and evaluate potential donors, ensuring that the Conservancy can cultivate its largest and most strategic donors effectively. The Analyst will work collaboratively within the Global Prospect Development team, reporting to the Associate Director, and will be responsible for presenting research findings and recommendations to development leadership and other executives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive prospect research to identify and evaluate potential donors.
  • Develop and implement strategies for donor identification and engagement.
  • Analyze and interpret data to prepare donor briefings and generate reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support fundraising efforts.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of systems and resources used in prospect research.
  • Present biographical research and recommendations to development leadership.
  • Stay updated on trends in wealth, philanthropy, and conservation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience in principles and practices of prospect research and management.
  • Proficiency with current resources and technology in prospect research.
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare detailed donor briefings.
  • Experience working across departments and with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Multi-lingual skills and cross-cultural experience.
  • Knowledge of current trends in prospect research.
  • Experience researching principal gift-level prospects in a non-profit environment.
  • Training in fundraising principles and practices.
