About the position

The Prospect Strategy Analyst (PSA) plays a crucial role in supporting fundraising efforts at the University of Florida by providing strategic research, analysis, and prospect management. This position collaborates with various colleges and units to enhance pipeline development and portfolio management, ensuring effective communication and training for fundraisers. The PSA will also engage in special projects and contribute to institutional strategic initiatives, making it a key partner in advancing the university's fundraising goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional prospect development, analytical research, and information services to support fundraising goals.
  • Identify and assess financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, and connections to UF for major gift prospects.
  • Prepare thorough and timely profiles on UF constituents to support fundraising initiatives.
  • Utilize various resources to obtain information on prospects or funding sources for gifts to the University.
  • Develop knowledge of the donor database and maintain data integrity in collaboration with other departments.
  • Attend and participate in meetings, workgroups, and committees as needed.
  • Assist with special campaign projects, including leading workgroups and conducting targeted research.
  • Participate in Data Governance committees as a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Act as a strategic partner for assigned development officers in prospect strategy development.
  • Identify creative methods to engage prospects and recommend prospect assignments.
  • Conduct quarterly meetings with development officers to discuss portfolio management and pipeline development.
  • Drive a consistent approach to research and prospect management through communication and training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization.
  • Two years of relevant experience in prospect management, research, or fundraising in a higher education setting.
  • Exceptional analytical skills to synthesize information and perform complex analyses.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies.
  • Collaborative and customer service-focused orientation with strong professional relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated success in program development and execution.
  • Strong project management and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with PLSQL and Microsoft Office Suites, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with standard research resources such as DonorSearch and LinkedIn.
  • Knowledge of ethical and best practices in fundraising and prospect management.
