About the position

Vcreate is seeking a passionate and experienced Research Scientist to join our team in developing next-generation bispecific antibody drugs, including T-cell engagers. The role focuses on antibody drug development, protein design, and collaboration within a dynamic team to advance transformative treatments for cancer patients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of T-cell receptor based T-cell engagers, focusing on optimal antibody format to enhance their efficacy.
  • Work with our CRO to conduct recombinant protein design, purification, and structural optimization.
  • Utilize SPR and other biophysical techniques to characterize target specificity, binding affinities, and stability of antibody candidates.
  • Drive lead optimization efforts to improve antibody functionality, specificity, and stability, working closely with our discovery and bioinformatics teams.
  • Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize immune assays related to cancer killing and cytokine release, ensuring robust, reproducible results.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of immunology and AI scientists to problem-solve, share insights, and push the boundaries of bispecific antibody technology.

Requirements

  • PhD in Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a related field, with a focus on antibody or protein engineering with at least 2 years of industry experience or MS with 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Strong experience in antibody drug development, particularly in bispecific antibodies or T-cell engagers.
  • Prior hands-on experience in recombinant protein design, purification, and characterization techniques, including SPR (e.g. Biacore).
  • Experience with HPLC and his-tag purification.
  • Proficiency in optimizing antibody orientation and understanding different configurations for bispecific efficacy.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities for assay development and optimization.
  • Deep understanding of Kd, IC50, EC50 calculations.
  • Collaborative and communicative team player, comfortable in a small, dynamic environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with T-cell receptors and pMHC.
  • Cell killing assays and cancer animal model experience.
  • Previous experience in biotech or pharmaceutical settings focused on immuno-oncology or bispecific antibody development.
