About the position

The Protocol Analyst at Purdue University will oversee the operations of the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP), ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards in research involving human subjects. This role involves reviewing research proposals, advising on regulatory issues, and developing educational programs for investigators. The analyst will also monitor compliance, manage HRPP records, and collaborate with faculty and other university personnel to enhance the HRPP's effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Review research submissions and ensure readiness for IRB review.
• Advise IRB members on regulatory issues presented.
• Manage HRPP records in compliance with Federal regulations and University policy.
• Monitor records for completeness and resolve deficiencies.
• Write detailed reports identifying compliance and non-compliance issues.
• Recommend remediation plans when appropriate.
• Develop new practices to enhance service to faculty and external partners.
• Build relationships with faculty and students using the HRPP.
• Educate faculty and students on HRPP requirements and processes.
• Conduct non-exempt protocol pre-reviews and ensure IRB review readiness.
• Oversee scheduling of IRB meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
• Draft formal communications to investigators regarding IRB decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Two years of experience in IRB administration, research, regulatory compliance, or research administration.
• In lieu of a degree, equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
