About the position

Auto-Chlor is seeking a Prototype Design Electrical Engineer to spearhead our engineering development initiatives. This role is pivotal in fostering our commitment to a "People First" culture, where collaboration and contributions are not only encouraged but celebrated. The position is based in Memphis, TN, and requires full-time in-office work. As a Prototype Design Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative solutions for dishwasher and dispensing projects, which may involve both new equipment development and enhancements to existing equipment. The duration of these projects can range from two months to over a year, depending on the specific requirements outlined in the Project Brief. In addition to project development, you will play a crucial role in ensuring regulatory compliance with various agencies, including NSF, CSA, UL, BOCA, ASSE, UPC, and other federal, state, and local authorities. Your expertise will be essential in providing support to our field sales team on regulatory matters, ensuring that customer equipment operations remain uninterrupted. Furthermore, you will be tasked with offering technical support to a diverse range of stakeholders, including field sales teams, contractors, consultants, engineers, and architects. A key aspect of your role will also involve developing and managing technical documentation necessary for design control and field use, ensuring that all engineering processes are well-documented and compliant with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement solutions for dishwasher and dispensing innovation projects, including new equipment development and existing equipment innovation.
  • Administer regulatory compliance with agencies such as NSF, CSA, UL, BOCA, ASSE, UPC, and Federal, State, and Local authorities.
  • Provide support to the field sales team on regulatory issues, focusing on maintaining customer equipment operation without disruption to business.
  • Provide technical support to field sales team, contractors, consultants, engineers, and architects.
  • Develop and manage technical documentation for design control and field use.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree or comparable years of work experience.
  • 5-10 years of electrical and electronic design experience, with experience working with regulatory agencies.
  • Experience in the commercial appliance industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of codes and standards for plumbing, sanitation, electrical, and building (NSF, CSA, UL, BOCA, ASSE, UPC, FDA).
  • Electrical/electronic circuit design expertise.
  • Proficiency in CAD Modeling, preferably with Autodesk Inventor.
