About The Position

The Prototyping Technician/Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing rapid prototyping processes to support product development and innovation within a manufacturing team. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to translate design requirements into functional prototypes, utilizing CAD software for 3D modeling, and operating various rapid prototyping equipment.

Requirements

• Knowledge of CAD design software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with welding practices, electronics, pneumatics, and fluid dynamics.
• Ability to operate and maintain rapid prototyping equipment, such as 3D printers, CNC machines, and Laser cutters.

• Experience working on a farm or similar hands-on environment.
• Local to the central Indiana area.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement rapid prototyping processes and techniques to support product development and innovation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and manufacturing, to understand and translate design requirements into functional prototypes.
• Utilize CAD (Solidworks) to create 3D models and generate design files for rapid prototyping.
• Operate and maintain rapid prototyping equipment, such as 3D printers, CNC machines, Laser cutters, and other additive or subtractive manufacturing technologies.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations to determine the most suitable rapid prototyping methods for different product designs.
• Optimize and iterate on prototype designs based on feedback, performance testing, and design improvements.
• Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to source materials and components for prototyping.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements and trends in rapid prototyping technologies and techniques.
• Provide technical support and training to other team members involved in the rapid prototyping process.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to rapid prototyping equipment, processes, and materials.
