The Provider Business Development Manager (PBDM) plays a crucial role in the growth strategies of Keck Medicine of USC, focusing on building and nurturing relationships with physicians, medical groups, and community-based organizations. This position is pivotal in supporting the overall growth strategies of the Keck Medical Center by initiating and maintaining referral relationships with identified partners within designated geographic service areas. The PBDM is tasked with specific service lines for targeted outreach and development, aiming to enhance the visibility of primary and specialty services, align physicians with affiliated organizations, increase downstream revenue, and drive new patient acquisition. In this role, the PBDM will provide leadership with insights on strategic market development opportunities, utilizing data and market research to proactively identify growth opportunities and mitigate barriers to utilization. Exceptional customer service to the referral network is a key component of this position. The PBDM will routinely communicate with external providers to raise awareness of services, facilitate introductions to Keck Medicine faculty, identify barriers to utilization, and improve service levels through collaboration and demonstrable results. The PBDM will support strategic growth goals by leveraging market research and data to draft outreach plans that encompass nurturing existing accounts and pursuing new accounts for incremental growth. This includes presenting plans for endorsement, providing timely updates on progress, and modifying approaches as necessary to meet business objectives. As the subject matter expert for assigned service lines, the PBDM will represent the department in internal meetings and execute growth plans that may span multiple geographies. A strong understanding of the referring physician market will be developed through direct dialogue with community providers, competitor research, and data monitoring of physician networks. Timely documentation of outreach efforts will be maintained within the department's Customer Relationship Management module or other approved tracking tools. Collaboration with department colleagues will be essential to drive incremental growth across prioritized services. The PBDM will also actively participate in executing the team's annual calendar of Provider Business Development events, such as Doctors' Day and Holiday Celebrations. Opportunities to develop business with payors and community hospitals will be escalated to department leadership, providing relevant insights for follow-up. Additionally, the PBDM will work closely with the Marketing and Communications departments to create and distribute strategic collateral for physician outreach purposes.
