About the position

The Provider Compensation Analyst plays a crucial role in providing compensation consultative services for Erlanger Medical Group's employed and independent contracted providers. This position requires close collaboration with leadership in Provider Recruitment, EMG Operations, and the EMG Business Office to analyze compensation design and benchmarking, assess physician productivity, evaluate fair market value, and manage contract reviews. The analyst will conduct comprehensive benchmarking and data analysis to formulate compensation recommendations that align with the system's standards for compensation programs. In addition to analyzing compensation arrangements as stipulated in Provider Employment Agreements, the Provider Compensation Analyst will manage components of the annual and bi-annual provider contract review process. This includes preparing productivity reports, making recommendations on salary adjustments, and gathering and analyzing data to determine incentive goal achievements. The analyst will also participate in and complete annual provider compensation and productivity surveys, collaborating closely with external appraisers and consultants to obtain analyses of fair market value (FMV) and commercial reasonableness (CR) for all proposed compensation plans. Furthermore, the analyst will partner with Provider Recruitment and Operations teams to address business and operational issues, and will also serve as a backup to the EMG Financial Analyst for calculations of provider incentive compensation, variable compensation, and uploads to Payroll as needed. This role is essential for ensuring that compensation practices are fair, competitive, and aligned with the organization's goals.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret, analyze, and implement compensation arrangements as stipulated in Provider Employment Agreements.
  • Manage components and participate in the annual/bi-annual provider contract review process.
  • Prepare productivity reports and provide recommendations on salary adjustments.
  • Gather and analyze data to determine incentive goal achievements.
  • Participate in and complete annual provider compensation and productivity surveys.
  • Collaborate with external appraisers/consultants to analyze fair market value (FMV) and commercial reasonableness (CR).
  • Partner with Provider Recruitment and Operations teams to solve business and operations issues.
  • Serve as backup to the EMG Financial Analyst for calculations of provider incentive compensation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, finance, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of finance or compensation experience required.
  • Two (2) years of physician or provider compensation experience required.
  • Solid understanding of physician billing and productivity measures (i.e., CPT, wRVU, Charges, Collections, etc.) required.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a hospital or healthcare-related environment required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in health/hospital administration, business administration, finance, or related field preferred.
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate verbally and in writing to key stakeholders within the organization.
  • Ability to multi-task projects.
