About the position

The Provider Compensation Analyst position at McLaren Health Care is a remote role based in Michigan, primarily focused on the examination, interpretation, and processing of data to support organizational decision-making within provider compensation. This role is integral to the financial operations of the health network, which includes a comprehensive range of services from hospitals to outpatient care facilities. The analyst will engage in various tasks that require both independent work and collaboration with team members, exercising discretion and judgment in a predominantly intellectual capacity. The responsibilities of the analyst include writing, modifying, and executing various databases and reports that cater to production, management, regulatory, and customer needs. The role demands analytical operations support utilizing diverse data sources, where the analyst will analyze and interpret data to inform management decisions. Identifying areas of opportunity for operational efficiency and long-term success is crucial, as is addressing cost control and management issues with actionable recommendations. Additionally, the analyst will be responsible for reconciling provider compensation with contractual terms and consulting with management and operating department personnel to ascertain information requirements. Promoting positive internal and external relations is essential, as the analyst will actively seek and respond to customer feedback. The role also involves supporting continuous quality improvement projects and performance improvement activities, ensuring the efficient operation of the department and the organization as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Acts both independently and in concert with team; consistently exercises discretion and judgment in performing work which is predominantly intellectual and varied in nature.
  • Writes, modifies and executes various production, management, regulatory, customer and ad hoc databases and reports.
  • Provide analytical operations support using a variety of data sources. Analyze and interpret data to provide information for management decisions.
  • Analyze data to identify areas of opportunity that promote operational efficiency and long term organizational success.
  • Identify cost control and cost management issues and recommend actions to resolve.
  • Responsible for reconciliation of provider compensation to contractual terms.
  • Consults/meets with management and/or operating department personnel to determine information requirements and produces specifications for systems projects.
  • Promotes positive internal and external relations by actively seeking and being responsive to customer feedback.
  • Ability to support and participate in continuous quality improvement projects and performance improvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or when necessary to maintain efficient operations of the department and the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems, Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • One year of prior experience in finance/accounting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in an integrated health system medical group, particularly in Provider Compensation.
  • Experience working with Cerner and HPP electronic medical and billing systems.
  • Experience in healthcare financial forecasting and analysis.
  • Experience working with large databases, data extraction and analysis.
