About the position

The Provider Credentialing Contract Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating the development and execution of contracts for participating providers under the supervision of the Provider Development Operations Manager. This position is responsible for drafting, implementing, tracking, and updating provider contracts for SelectHealth, while also serving as a liaison between SelectHealth and affiliated providers. The specialist ensures compliance with regulatory and policy requirements and assists in resolving contract-related issues.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact and resource for provider offices regarding participating provider service agreement contracts.
  • Coordinate and manage the contracting process for all participating providers, including development, amendment, and termination of contracts.
  • Assist providers in resolving contract-related issues and advise on regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Coordinate the amendment, extension, or termination of contracts with provider offices, including necessary administrative and legal reviews.
  • Research expired contracts and initiate actions to resolve them, either by amending/extending or terminating the contract.
  • Develop contracts, amendments, and extensions using approved templates and draft language for unique situations for review.
  • Coordinate the contract signature process with Provider Development Representatives and provider offices to ensure timely execution.
  • Support communication regarding new contracts or changes to appropriate departments.
  • Coordinate with Intermountain Medical Staff Services and Select Health Provider Development staff in preparing draft contracts for providers.
  • Update systems to maintain accurate and current information regarding provider contract status.
  • Assist Provider Development staff and provider offices in resolving contract-related issues and prepare necessary correspondence.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited institution or four years of contracting experience within Healthcare.
  • One year of professional work experience in contract development, management, or healthcare operations support.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, email, and scheduling applications.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail in written communication, including grammar, spelling, proofreading, and punctuation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate degree with coursework in accounting, finance, business law, and contract development.
  • Paralegal training or experience.
