About The Position

The Provider Network Manager Sr. - Contract Negotiator is responsible for developing the provider network through contract negotiations and relationship management. This role focuses on negotiating complex contracts with large institutional providers and medical groups, ensuring an appropriate distribution of provider specialties within the network. The position requires a high level of judgment and discretion, as well as the ability to mentor other contracting staff and collaborate on projects impacting the business unit.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree and a minimum of 5 years' experience in contracting, provider relations, or provider servicing.
• Prior contracting experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• 5 - 8 years of contract negotiations experience for Hospitals, large Professional Groups, and ASCs.
• Experience negotiating contracts for all lines of business, with a strong preference for Commercial.
• Experience negotiating new contracts, renewals, and amendments for new products.
• Experience in fee schedule development using actuarial models.

Responsibilities

• Develops the provider network through contract negotiations and relationship development.
• Serves as a key resource for other contracting staff, providing mentoring and on-the-job training.
• Works independently with a high level of judgment and discretion.
• Collaborates with sales teams to present to employer groups.
• Acts as a communication link between professional providers and the company.
• Ensures appropriate distribution of provider specialties in the network.
• Conducts complex negotiations and drafts necessary documents.
• Prepares financial projections and conducts analysis related to contracts.
• Responsible for Rate Loads.
• Visits providers in person up to 15% of the time.
