About the position

The Provider Onboarding Specialist at PeaceHealth is responsible for coordinating the onboarding process for newly hired physicians and clinicians, ensuring a smooth transition from contract signing through their first thirty days. This remote role emphasizes high-quality customer service and process improvement, aiming to enhance the overall onboarding experience for new hires.

Responsibilities

  • Develops onboarding tracking and coordination for newly hired physicians and clinicians from contract signing through their first thirty days.
  • Initiates, processes, and tracks new clinician application and credentialing packets.
  • Maintains tracking mechanisms and coordinates with various PeaceHealth support departments for accuracy and completion of clinician documents.
  • Responds to physician and clinician onboarding needs to positively impact overall experience.
  • Uses gathered information to assess and inform process improvement.
  • Coordinates mentor assignments and introductions for physicians and clinicians to key stakeholders.
  • Works with clinic managers to facilitate periodic conversations during onboarding and the clinician's first thirty days of employment.
  • Tracks feedback from onboarding conversations to support work around experience related to hiring and onboarding processes.
  • Identifies community resources to share with clinicians, including housing, schools, and social clubs.
  • Coordinates communication with PeaceHealth resources, including benefits, retirement, compensation, and clinical teams.
  • Maintains project tools and coordinates timing, prioritization, and implementation of projects in collaboration with leadership.
  • Works with leadership to identify target areas for improvement and recommends goals and methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in healthcare recruitment, onboarding, or contracting.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience coordinating projects with demonstrated success outcomes, focusing on patient experience or service excellence.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a hospital, clinic, or health system.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple functions and manage tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to function autonomously and collaboratively with teams.
