The Provider Operations Business Analyst I plays a crucial role in supporting the Provider Operations Management team at Hawaii Medical Service Association (HMSA). This position is responsible for conducting comprehensive research and analysis that aids in major departmental and corporate initiatives, projects, and any activities that significantly impact both member and provider experiences. The analyst will serve as a subject matter expert on various initiatives, ensuring that the needs of Provider Operations are effectively addressed. This includes articulating business needs clearly to prevent any negative impacts on the department and escalating concerns to management when necessary. The analyst will pursue issues diligently until satisfactory resolutions are achieved. In this role, the Business Analyst I will independently conduct data analysis related to significant projects and operational activities. This involves designing analyses, gathering and analyzing data, and identifying root causes through trend analysis. The analyst will also be responsible for developing recommendations for resolution and prevention procedures, as well as constructing documentation and executing solutions as directed by management. Additionally, the analyst will engage directly with providers, both in writing and over the phone, to resolve complex inquiries. Proactive identification and research of issues and trends that could adversely affect the department and HMSA as a whole are essential components of this position. The analyst will also perform miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned or directed by management.
