About the position

The Provider Support Specialist at Good Shepherd Center is responsible for overseeing the childcare training program to meet state deliverables through partnerships with Illinois Action for Children. This role involves organizing training activities, ensuring data tracking, and evaluating community training needs. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment, while also providing guidance to clients in their professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the childcare training program to meet state deliverables.
• Organize tasks related to all training activities in the service area.
• Ensure data tracking in the web-based tracking program is completed.
• Evaluate the community for training needs and explore current trends in childcare.
• Build relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Lead a team and work closely with the director.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development or a related field preferred.
• 3 years of experience in Early Childhood.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, Access, Publisher, PowerPoint) and Zoom Conferencing platform.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of DCFS licensing standards for childcare homes and centers.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and Saturdays.
• Reliable transportation for travel to various locations.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to speak and write Polish or Spanish is a plus!
• Experience in guest relations.
• Knowledge of childhood development.
