About the position

The Provider Staff Development Coordinator at UT Health Austin plays a crucial role in onboarding new physicians and advanced practice providers (APP) while ensuring compliance with ongoing education and training requirements. This position involves developing orientation materials, coordinating training programs, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The coordinator will also evaluate training effectiveness and collaborate with various departments to support staff development.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with onboarding new physicians and advanced practice providers (APP) in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Develop standardized and role-specific employee orientation materials.
  • Act as a resource for new physicians and APPs during their job-specific orientation.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct required training and in-service programming to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Evaluate physician and APP development and training programs based on participant feedback.
  • Coordinate internal or external training programs as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state and federal regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain cooperative relationships among healthcare teams through effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Participate in quality audits and review clinical policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with HR and medical staff to maintain up-to-date personnel files for employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of healthcare training experience.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-physician practice environment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with physicians and other departments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing with at least 5 years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Active Texas (multi-state) RN licensure in good standing.
  • Understanding of the care ecosystem in Travis County around social services and transportation.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
