About the position

The Human Resources Provider Support Specialist at El Rio Community Health Center is responsible for managing provider scheduling and supporting HR functions related to provider support. This role ensures that staffing requirements are met by creating and maintaining schedules, handling time and attendance, and providing administrative support. The specialist also serves as a resource for employees, addressing inquiries and resolving issues while promoting a culture of excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Create hospital call schedules for various healthcare providers on a weekly basis.
  • Enter and update hospital coverage on external company systems.
  • Create schedule templates for new and existing providers.
  • Coordinate provider schedules with residency program needs.
  • Audit EHR/HRIS/Teams/external systems for accuracy and accountability.
  • Schedule monthly meetings with health center management to ensure coverage.
  • Block providers' schedules as needed based on health center requirements.
  • Review health center coverage for leave approval and submit requests to management.
  • Submit IT tickets for provider account setup.
  • Resolve issues related to calls or inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational regulations and HR policies.
  • Use computerized systems to reconcile provider payroll and HR data.
  • Schedule backup coverage for provider staff as required.
  • Process and reconcile time and attendance and payroll for assigned providers.
  • Research and generate reports as assigned or requested.
  • Plan and facilitate events and projects supporting HR operations.
  • Communicate effectively with employees and clients, conveying information positively.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and patient information in compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for organizational operating systems and software.
  • Research and provide reports to HR staff or clients as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Three years of experience in Human Resources including provider scheduling, or a combination of the two.
  • Three years of experience with HRIS and/or EHR systems, or a combination of the two.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field from an accredited university.
  • Five years of experience in Human Resources including provider scheduling, or a combination of the two.
  • Five years of experience with HRIS and/or EHR systems, or a combination of the two.
  • Five years of experience scheduling appointments in a healthcare environment using EHR or related systems.
  • Proficient organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Competitive hourly pay ranging from $23.38 to $32.15 depending on experience.
