About the position

The Cloud Developer/DevOps position at Applied Insight focuses on enhancing federal government capabilities through advanced cloud technologies and DevOps methodologies. The role involves building enterprise-scale environments using AWS, automating processes, and collaborating with software engineers to improve security and streamline infrastructure. This position supports dynamic professional services engagements, emphasizing migration and optimization within AWS environments, and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and technology adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance skillset by building enterprise-scale environments using AWS technologies and DevOps methodologies.
  • Work directly with AWS services and underlying operating systems to improve security automations.
  • Aid collaboration efforts with software engineers and streamline infrastructure processes.
  • Interact with various operating systems, applications, and cloud platforms to create IT automation and orchestration activities.
  • Use open-source technologies and tools to address specific project use cases.
  • Employ coding languages or scripting methodologies to solve problems with custom workflows.
  • Collaborate with project team members to tackle complex technological infrastructure issues.
  • Perform incremental testing on code, processes, and deployments to minimize errors.
  • Implement event-driven architectures via Infrastructure as Code using cloud-native services.

Requirements

  • Four (4+) years of experience in software development, software engineering, or systems automation.
  • Experience with agile software development in Python, Go, or Node.js.
  • DevOps experience in automation within Windows or Linux environments using scripting languages like Bash or PowerShell.
  • Strong customer-facing skills for discussions with senior personnel on project management and risk mitigation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, IS, or a related technical field.
  • Active Top Secret or TS/SCI Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • AWS experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • AWS Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps Administrator Associate Certification.
