About the position

The Research Assistant/Analyst position at the Huntsman Cancer Institute involves supporting a research study focused on skin cancer prevention among college students in Utah. The role includes working closely with the principal investigators and a collaborative research team to assist in various research activities, including data collection, analysis, and preparation of research materials. The position is part-time, requiring a commitment of up to 19 hours per week, primarily during the day.

Responsibilities

• Collect and compile data from various sources; may enter data into a PC or computer terminal.
• Statistically analyze data, including calculating mean, median, standard deviation, and performing multiple regression analysis.
• Edit research papers, project reports, proposals, and curriculum materials prior to publication or presentation.
• Prepare format for final disposition of data; maintain an internal library on project information resources and final data collected.
• Work with research personnel in the design and preparation of research projects and in recording data.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a Social or Behavioral Science, Liberal Arts, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
• One year of experience in research and analytical techniques.
• Demonstrated statistical and quantitative analysis experience.
• Effective communication and human relation skills.
