About the position

We are looking for a dedicated Compliance Engineer to join our Process Safety Management team. This person should be comfortable around all types of industrial refrigeration equipment, especially ammonia-based systems. The ideal candidate will be familiar with mechanical integrity, Process Hazard Analysis, Hazop Analysis, and Compliance audits.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure facility compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP) rules.
  • Develop and implement tools and management systems necessary to fulfill the elements of PSM and RMP through coordination with all disciplines in the plant (Safety Champions, Reliability, Engineering, Emergency Response, etc.).
  • Ensure implementations of all required elements are well documented and auditable.
  • Own and audit various existing programs site-wide.
  • Lead site-wide Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and ensure documentation and follow-up is completed.
  • Perform incident investigations as needed.
  • Participate in company cross-site, process safety team charged with driving consistency in process risk management.
  • Set and track goals and measures for PSM program improvement.
  • This position will carry the opportunity to move into a managerial role within PSM/PMP based on performance and work ethic.
  • Potential for frequent overnight travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • At least 2 years of professional engineering experience (prior PSM experience is not required)
  • Experience in a PSM regulated facility preferred
  • Knowledge of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)
  • Ability to communicate, lead and facilitate efforts related to PSM/RMP disciplines within the facility
  • Ability to interpret complex regulations
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Solid problem solving and critical thinking skills
