About the position
Comprehensive Wellness Centers, LLC is seeking a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatric Physician's Assistants are welcome to apply) to join our team in Lantana, Florida. This role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric care to mental health clients, collaborating with the medical staff, and ensuring the delivery of quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health and a passion for helping clients achieve their wellness goals.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations and history and physical evaluations.
- Collaborate with medical staff to provide comprehensive medical and nursing care.
- Document patient progress and regress according to established policies and procedures.
- Provide psychiatric care to mental health clients.
- Administer primary care and medical treatment as needed.
- Supervise and instruct patients on medication self-administration and health education.
- Review lab results and provide treatment or referrals as necessary.
- Initiate, monitor, and manage therapies including pharmacotherapy per protocol approved by the Medical Director.
- Evaluate behavioral problems, diagnose, and make treatment recommendations.
- Order consults for other medical specialties as needed.
- Provide the Medical Director with findings of case reviews and detailed consult reports.
- Oversee infection control and ensure compliance with proper procedures and policies.
- Provide Utilization Review with detailed information for appropriate patient care levels.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice as a PMHNP (or Psychiatric Physician's Assistant) in the state of Florida.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with a Master's degree in Nursing, including clinical training in a healthcare specialty area.
- At least 1 year of experience with mental health in a CSU (or inpatient) setting.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in primary mental health across all levels of care.
