About the position

Lakeview Center is seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our team in Shalimar, Florida. This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive psychiatric diagnostic evaluations and prescribing appropriate treatments for clients suffering from mental illnesses, substance dependencies, and intellectual disabilities. The APRN will operate within the framework of established standards and regulations set forth by the United States Department of Health and Human Services, CARF Accreditation, Joint Commission, CMS, and relevant Florida state agency requirements. The position demands adherence to the ethical standards of the American Medical Association and compliance with any third-party payer regulations that may apply. As a Psychiatric APRN, you will be responsible for conducting thorough psychiatric evaluations, managing medication regimens, and providing both individual and group therapy. You will also play a crucial role in identifying systemic changes necessary to enhance the quality of care for our clients. This position requires active participation in case staffing and treatment conferences, where you will collaborate with other medical staff to make informed clinical decisions. Additionally, you will oversee interns through preceptorship, contributing to their professional development while ensuring high standards of care are maintained. The ideal candidate will possess a Master of Science in Nursing and be certified as a Psychiatric APRN by the Florida Board of Nursing. An active Florida license and DEA certification are mandatory, with a preference for candidates holding a Suboxone Certificate. You will be expected to document and report psychiatric services within designated time frames, attend monthly meetings, and engage with the community through training and media events. This full-time position operates on a day shift schedule, emphasizing the importance of employee health and safety in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric diagnostic evaluations and prescribe pertinent treatment to clients.
  • Document and report psychiatric services and activities within designated time frames.
  • Provide outpatient individual and/or group therapy, medication management, and psychiatric evaluations.
  • Identify and promote system changes to meet client's needs to improve the quality of treatment.
  • Participate in case staffing and conferences with treatment teams.
  • Make independent medical judgments and collaborative decisions, seeking consultation from medical staff when clinically indicated.
  • Provide medication-assisted treatment with dispensing capabilities.
  • Oversee interns through preceptorship.
  • Attend and participate in the monthly MSO meeting.
  • Provide professional knowledge and insights to the community through trainings and media events.

Requirements

  • Must have a Master of Science in Nursing.
  • Must be certified as a Psychiatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the Florida Board of Nursing.
  • Must have an active Florida license.
  • Must have active, or in process, DEA and be eligible for Dispensing Certification in Florida.
  • Suboxone Certificate preferred.
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
