About The Position

The Psychiatric Associate position at Fairview Health Services involves providing patient care and promoting a therapeutic environment for adolescents in a residential setting. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• BLS certification
• First aid certification through the American Heart Association (if assigned to work on a chemical dependency unit)

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care and promote a therapeutic environment under RN supervision.
• Conduct safety checks of patients through visual observation and documentation.
• Conduct room, belongings, and unit searches.
• Respond to and participate in de-escalation of patients, including physical intervention as trained.
• Actively participate in milieu management with treatment teamwork.
• Perform basic patient daily living routines and procedures according to treatment plans.
• Demonstrate knowledge of signs/symptoms of diagnoses and interventions.
• Conduct educational programming with individuals and/or patient groups according to treatment plans.
• Respond to emergency situations as trained per policy.
• Act as a member of the multi-disciplinary therapeutic team.
• Exhibit verbal communication in a timely, detailed, and professional manner.
• Possess knowledge of current issues, changes, and updates in Behavioral Services policies and procedures.
