About the position

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Blackbird Health, you will be integral in providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and medication management for children, adolescents, and young adults. This role emphasizes collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care and empowers you to make a significant impact in the lives of young patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnosis, creating personalized treatment plans for children and adolescents.
  • Provide education and consultation for patients and their families.
  • Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals including psychotherapists on an integrated treatment plan and medication management to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
  • Manage diagnostic testing, including digital and lab results.
  • Participate in weekly team and supervisory clinical meetings.
  • Maintain thorough records of patient meetings and progress and maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform other clinical-related activities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Flexibility to work a minimum of 12 hours per week during peak "after school hours" defined as after 4 pm ET during the week or on weekends.
  • Flexibility to work in person at one of our clinics 1-3 days a week as needed.
  • Have a Master's Degree from an accredited nursing program, PMHNP-BC certification, and at least one year of independent psychiatric experience working under licensure.
  • Hold an active PMHNP/CRNP/APN license, DEA license, and State Prescriptive Authority.
