About the position
The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) at Infinity Care Plus is responsible for providing comprehensive mental health care and substance abuse treatment to patients. This role involves conducting evaluations, diagnosing disorders, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care. The PMHNP will work on-site, delivering patient-centered care and utilizing innovative technology to enhance service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments.
- Diagnose and manage mental health disorders, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe and manage medications as necessary.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling to patients.
- Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and integrated care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records.
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in mental health care.
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health.
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in Kentucky.
- Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in psychiatric/mental health care.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills in mental health.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with electronic medical records.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement.
