About the position
The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) at Positive Reset Mental Health Clinic is responsible for providing medication management and psychiatric evaluations to clients. This role involves diagnosing mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders, prescribing medications, and administering psychotherapeutic treatments in collaboration with the Program Psychiatrist. The PMHNP will work under the supervision of the Medical Director or Assigned Psychiatrist, ensuring comprehensive care for clients in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate client data and test findings to diagnose mental disorders.
- Prescribe, direct, and administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications.
- Gather and maintain client information and records, including social and medical history.
- Advise and inform guardians and relatives about the client's condition and treatment.
- Prepare case reports and summaries for clients and relevant agencies.
Requirements
- Advanced practice nursing degree (CRNP, PMHNP, APRN, MSN-FNP, GNP, PCNS or similar).
- Licensed in New Jersey as a nurse practitioner or CNS.
- State controlled substance and DEA numbers.
- Prior behavioral health experience.
Nice-to-haves
- NJ APN License (Preferred)
- PMHNP Board Certification (Preferred)
- Experience in Addiction medicine.
