About the position

Shenandoah Community Health (SCH) is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for a full-time outpatient role within our expanding multi-disciplinary Behavioral Health Services Team located in Winchester, VA. This position is designed for professionals who are passionate about providing high-quality mental health care and will involve delivering therapy and psychopharmacology consultations to patients. As part of a collaborative team, you will work alongside social workers, nurses, psychologists, professional counselors, recovery coaches, and support staff to serve a diverse patient population across Jefferson, Berkeley, and Morgan Counties in West Virginia, as well as Winchester, Virginia. Currently, services are offered through both in-person appointments and telehealth, allowing for flexible patient care options. Since its inception in 1976, SCH has been committed to ensuring that patients receive comprehensive healthcare and behavioral health services. Responsibilities

  • Provide therapy and psychopharmacology consultations to patients in an outpatient setting.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of providers including social workers, nurses, psychologists, and counselors.
  • Serve patients in Jefferson, Berkeley, Morgan County, WV, and Winchester, VA.
  • Maintain licensure and comply with continuing education requirements.
  • Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed or eligible for license in the state of Virginia.
  • Must have and maintain a Virginia DEA.
  • Must be board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.
