About the position

We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team at a leading healthcare provider dedicated to delivering comprehensive mental health services to our community. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you can make a meaningful impact on the mental well-being of our patients. As a PMHNP, you will be responsible for conducting psychiatric assessments and evaluations to determine diagnoses and develop treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. You will prescribe and manage medication regimens, monitor treatment effectiveness, and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal patient outcomes. In addition to medication management, you will provide psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals and groups, fostering a supportive therapeutic environment. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and nurses, to ensure comprehensive patient care. Educating patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures will also be a vital part of your responsibilities. You will maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and participate in interdisciplinary meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress and treatment plans.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric assessments and evaluations to determine diagnosis and develop treatment plans.

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Kansas.
  • Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
