About the position

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner position at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center involves working within the Behavior Intervention Team, a multi-disciplinary psychiatric consultative service. This role focuses on providing direct consultation to patients with psychiatric and behavioral needs, educating staff and trainees, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. The position also offers opportunities for research, mentorship, and leadership in developing patient care services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct psychiatric consultation to patients admitted to medical and surgical services.
  • Educate staff and trainees on psychiatric and behavioral health issues.
  • Act as a peer expert within the department.
  • Participate in departmental and institutional committees.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to research participation and academic projects.
  • Mentor APRN students and supervise their training.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited APRN academic program.
  • National specialty certification as Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
  • Eligible for RN licensure in the State of NH.
  • Eligible for APRN licensure in the State of NH.
  • Eligible for Federal DEA Registration.
  • BLS certification.
